There are plenty of pachimon Maiko running around the Kiyomizudera area of Kyoto but we happened upon these three after making a wrong turn down a tiny street near Yasaka Jinja. By all accounts these are the real - as in very expensive to bring to your very exclusive party - maiko - and they weren't put off enough by my uncouth Japanese to refuse a request for a photograph. Good thing I remembered to take the lens cap off this time.
