ホタルの光窓の雪、書よむ月日重ねつつ
いつしか年もすぎのとを、あけてぞ今朝は別れゆく

Anybody who has every been in a Japanese supermarket 15 minutes before closing time knows what I mean in I say "Auld Lang Syne" - and to all the rest...
O wad some power the giftie gie us
To see oursel's as ithers see us!
It wad frae monie a blunder free us.
And foolish notion;
What airs in dress and gait wad lea'e us,
And ev'n devotion!
