It is Winterlude here in Ottawa - a very large festival of outdoor activities including public skating and skating displays, snow and ice sculpture competitions, musical concerts as a celebration of winter - personally i like to celebrate winter by finding a dark dingy bar and muttering over a pint of warm watery beer various incoherent rants about the minus billion degree temperature outside, global warming, the North Koreans, the Sons of Freedom, the youth of today and the middle-east (i mean really - why do they call it the middle-east? It's not in the middle of anything).
Part of Winterlude is an ice-sculpture carving competition - this is a Japanese samurai.
